All The Time In the World

Summer officially ended for me last week when I reported for work in Galena. My new job is challenging-I have to create new curriculum for 7th-9th grade-but rewarding, the students and staff are awesome!  And so far- I’ve still managed to make it to the gym every night-no small feat!

But a larger juggling act is looming on the horizon- my book edits are due soon. The OWP is hosting two conferences in the coming months, and I have several speaking engagements lined up for September. The barn still needs cleaning out (don’t even talk to me about my garden) and the stack of books still to be read before I can put them in my classroom library is the size of a small mountain.

No more puzzles, floating in the pool, or watching General Hospital for the foreseeable future! Do I play with the kitten or post on Face Book and Twitter? Download tonue twisters to use in our study of alliteration or do 100 situps? The sad trueth-no one can do it all.

So I’ll keep making lists and do a little of this, a little of that… and dream of summer when once again, I’ll have all the time in the world.
